About event
We cordially invite the opening of the exhibition - a cross -section of the Brno Secondary School of Art and Design, which will take place on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 6 pm in the house of the Lords of Kunštát.
In parallel, new exhibitions in Vašulka Kitchen Brno (Loading Coeexistenance/Radovan Dranga, Lenka Glisníková, Lenka Hámošová, Lukáš Prokop) and G99 (Denisa Ponomarevová).
Longitudinal cut by the current form of the secondary school of art and crafts in Brno. Its final form, however, will largely be formed by students themselves, graduates and pedagogical choir. Together we set out on a journey of exploring the position of this unique school within the city of Brno, its place in the context of artistic education in the Czech Republic and abroad, as well as its influence on cultural events in the region. How is the rich history of the school reflects in its current form?
The exhibition is created in the form of studio tasks and active involvement of the school team, not only in the process of its origin, but also in its promotion and documentation. However, it also offers another dimension: the opportunity to influence the form of the house of the Lords of Kunštát. One of the assignments is devoted to the design and possible implementation of interventions in the courtyard area, including the artistic processing of the entrance portal. Other tasks are aimed at creating a temporary multifunction space for meeting, rest and sharing. Selected studios are working on these projects throughout the spring semester. On this occasion, we want to explore the role of the school and still plays in the lives of her students, graduates, teachers and teachers. How did it affect their career career? What does it mean to be part of this institution? And what could the school represent in the future? We also address the widest range of graduates and former members of the teaching staff with an invitation to participate in the exhibition. We would like to give them space not only for the presentation of works of art, but also objects related to their relationship to the school - be it memories in the form of text, photographs, audio recordings or other distinctive contributions.
The preparation of the exhibition is the studios of space and media, product design, interior design, photographs, game art and eco textile design. Graphic solutions are processed by students Laura Bínová (graphic design) and Anna Hain (Motion Design). The process of the installation is documented by Marián Faltičko from the studio of photography. The project focused on extracurricular activities is prepared by Julie Novotná from EKO textile design. The video portrait of the school consists of a graduate of Běla Beránková, while the design of exhibition architecture is in charge of Monika Přikrylová, also a graduate of the school.
