About event
We invite you to the opening of the exhibition of Miroslav Sandanus - Coming Up for Air, which will take place on Thursday 6 March 2025 at 17:00. In the Turčianska Gallery!
The exhibition is called by George Orwell's novel, which captures the disillusionment of the modern world changing under the pressure of industrialization, consumption and increasing tension in society.
The exhibition of Miroslav Sandanus opens similar topics. His large -format hyperrealistic paintings encourage to think about the problems of individuals' isolation of individuals nowadays, our relationship to nature, or the influence of the digital world on the perception of reality.
The latest series of figural paintings, which captures people in translucent plastic coats, will be presented at the exhibition. The raincoat is not only a symbol of protection, but above all insulation, closure and theft. Like Orwell's book, these paintings do not offer escape, but force the lead to confront their own reality - the world we live in.
The exhibition curator is Adam Galko.
