About event
We cordially invite you to the opening of a new exhibition in Satellite III.
MIRO TRUBAČ: The Fallen Hero
The Fallen Hero installation suggests the reading of the work by its name. It reveals that the author reflects on what it means to be a man today from his position in a man's world. He thinks about heroes, male role models and authorities, which - as he himself admits - he subconsciously seeks out. It opens up many topics: What a man should be, what is expected of him, how he really feels, why we actually need a role model, or who to look up to when the stereotypical image of a mythical hero dissolves.
The exhibition is a continuation of the Satelit project and is part of the permanent exhibition First Museum of Intermedia III. A gentle force that deals with the issue of gender.
Curator: Kristína Hermanová
Venue: Považská art gallery in Žilina, exhibition space on the ground floor
Opening of the exhibition: Thursday, November 14 at 5:00 p.m.
Duration of the exhibition: 15.11. 2024 – 1.3.2025
Miro Trubač (1986), graduated from the VŠVU in Bratislava at the Department of Sculpture, Object, Installation (prof. P. Kovačovský), completed his doctoral studies under the guidance of doc. Ján Hoffstädter. Since 2011, he has been working as an art teacher at the ZUŠ in Trnava, and since 2023 also as a director. In 2017, he became a laureate of the international T.I.N.A. prize. In the same year, it was part of the exhibition Personal Structures open borders as a side event within the 57th Venice Art Biennale. He prepared several individual and group exhibitions at home and abroad (2024 - The Search for Utopia, Culture Lab LIC, New York). He is mainly engaged in chamber figurative sculpture with a focus on the male world and its masculine problems. He is currently represented by A Pick Gallery in Turin. He lives and works in Trnava.
We look forward to your visit!
