💭 The exhibition Under a Common Fragile Roof will present the work of female pedagogues in the premises of the Slovak Institute in Prague and teachers of the Department of Photography and New Media at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. He observes various forms and positions of coexistence, survival and cohabitation of the human species in his own skin, but also in time and in spaces that change irreversibly under the influence of his interventions.
🏫 The Department of Photography and New Media in Bratislava was established in in 1990 at the College of Fine Arts (1949) as the first in Slovakia with a focus on studying photography as a follow-up to liberal arts. Its basic teaching units consist of the Preparatory Photography Course, Protostudio and three profile studios: AFRK - Photography, Reality, Construction Studio; Studio of photography and critical practice and Studio of audiovisual overlaps. Students at the department are supported mainly in conceptual and critical thinking about the medium and the implications of the photographic medium towards other processes.
