How do you imagine the future beyond the boundaries of accelerated technological progress, after its slowdown? What entities could serve our real needs, what would they look like and what behavior would they have programmed? On what basis would their interfaces be formed, in what language would they communicate? Marcel Korec invites you to interact with objects that, although they seem to have re-evaluated the unsustainability of endless growth, but have not found out what exactly a sustainable alternative is.
Marcel Korec (1986) is a multimedia artist and a graduate of Bratislava University of Applied Sciences, whose work naturally crosses the boundaries of traditional disciplines. Although he emerged from the environment of the Department of Photography and New Media, his current work seamlessly combines painting, video, objects and site-specific installations. The artistic profile of the author was also shaped by experiences from the Viennese Academy der bildenden Künste or Atelier vvv. Korec's handwriting mainly defines the intersection of social criticism and specific visual humor, glossing over burning social topics with insight and elements of exaggeration, thus bringing the necessary amount of irony and critical reflection into contemporary art.

Under the title Memories of Matter, a group exhibition project, Rozkvet Gallery will gradually present the participation of individual authors. Memories of Matter networks parallel perspectives and authorial approaches that work with themes of temporality, material and visual memory, technological imagination and the mutability of reality.
