We invite you to the opening of the exhibition of Vendula Chalánková's illustrations, which show the everyday life of the famous composer Leoš Janáček. The exhibition will present the original illustrations from the books Mára's cookbook and Mára's memories, which are based on the authentic memories and recipes of Maria Stejskála, a long-time housekeeper in the Janáček family.
📖 Mára's cookbook contains recipes according to which the Janáčeks cooked and notes to the events in Janáček's family, and Mářa's memoirs are a unique account of the life of Janáček, his loved ones and the cultural environment of Brno at the time.
A selection from the music of Leoš Janáček will be performed by Lenka Cafourková Ďuricová (vocals) and Katarína Duchoňová (piano).
🖼️ Illustrations created using the paper collage technique represent scenes and events from the life of Janáček and his families.
🙏 The exhibition is part of the accompanying program of TIC BRNO to the Janáček Brno festival.
You can view it until January 6, 2025 during the opening hours of the ERA cafe.
