About event
Come to see the new exhibition at the SI cafe in the Rybární "Work life balance".
Confessing to the religion of one's self does not require any real lifestyle change. It promises higher productivity and personal happiness, but it is only perceived as a state of mind. You can achieve it by turning on the mode of continuous self-monitoring in the form of step and sleep trackers or a six-minute meditation controlled by the application. Instead of true fulfillment, however, it leads us to adapt to the conditions that our problems create.
The authors Maria Neal and Hubert Švaříček have combined their techniques and come up with objects with metal puzzles, intertwined with fine copper wire. Their work becomes a visual illustration of the time devoted to work and psychohygiene.

Maria Neal is a graduate of the Performance Studio of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno.
She works mainly with textiles and sound, primarily with field-recordings and found material. Through a playful exploration of his surroundings, he creates stories and illusions about everyday things.
Hubert Švaříček studied at the Free Arts I studio at the UMPRUM and currently continues his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in the Intermédia 3 studio.
The author deals with questions of memory and fragmentation of past events, in which he tries to decontextualize his own experiences. At the same time, they try to reflect the role of the wall painting with the help of metal objects.
