Matěj Pokorný - Rigor Mirage
The opening of the exhibition takes place on Wednesday 3. 9. He consciously diverts from previous abstract painting and turns to a new figurative morphology - it is a full return to the figure. The theme of the transformation thus becomes the main motive - both inside and in its surroundings. It monitors intensity - explosion, shape, destruction. Movement is key: physical release of internal voltage, which has no other valve. He sees the body as a field for mutation, transformation, tension between animal and humanity. Matěj Pokorný visually formulates how these transformations affect human identity and our self -self -self -esteem. The paintings are creeping, and Matěj is smoothly moving to the medium of the statue - at the moment he leaves the painting, but remains internally interconnected with it. The matter - the statue - has the ability of physical resistance that can only be overcome by great force. It is a dialogue between the artist and the material. Matěj Pokorný asks what it actually means to be a man - physically, emotionally, philosophically. It is a topic that remains in it - as a stiff idea to which it constantly returns, and through its vision reports to us.
