About event
Slovak photographer Tono Stano is one of the most famous authors operating in Central Europe. His work is part of the collections of the Art Institute Chicago or Bibliothèque National and Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris. In the Czech Republic, it is known for its long -term cooperation with the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, for which it created an extensive series of portraits of world -class film personalities and designed the Crystal Globus (2001). But his work is very extensive - from the aforementioned classic portrait to a very experimental series and conceptual photography.
We are preparing a retrospective exhibition directly with the author. We have the opportunity to examine its archive, to choose work that has not exposed, and look at his work from new perspectives. In the municipal library, we will present both work created in high school, which are surprising by their openness, invention and sense of film vision, as well as current creation combining painting and photographic procedures.
