Christmas is one of the most important Christian holidays. Many local or national customs are associated with the celebration of Christmas and the Advent season that precedes it. The Charles Bridge Museum traditionally and annually presents a Christmas-themed exhibition of folk nativity scenes. This year, our museum has prepared an exhibition on the theme of "Traditional Czech Nativity Scenes". Director of the Charles Bridge Museum, Zdeněk Bergman, says: "The most attractive exhibit is the largest straw nativity scene together with the largest rustling nativity scene. Every year, we add new figures of people and animals to the nativity scene.
In the exposition of the exhibition you will find nativity scenes from the Museum of Jindřichohradeck, other exhibits come from the Czech Association of Friends of Nativity Scenes - Betlémári Litomyšlska, a large hand-carved nativity scene is on display by the artist Zdenka Olivová from Litomyšle and other exhibits are Orlickoust nativity scenes from Jarmila's collection Heaps."
The exhibition will be open in the Charles Bridge Museum from December 1, 2024 to February 2, 2025.
The opening will take place here on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at 11 a.m.
