About event
Dear art lovers,
allow us to invite you to the exhibition and to the opening of the exhibition
Zdenek Lhotský: Construction of Infinity,
which will take place on Thursday 11/06/2026 from 19:00 to 22:00 at Dom Radost na nám. Winstona Churchilla 1800/2, Prague 3, Žižkov.
Zdeněk Lhotský (* 1956) is one of the most important personalities of contemporary Czech art and glassmaking.
The internationally recognized author, successor of Stanislav Libenský's legacy and long-time innovator in the field of fused glass sculpture, presents himself in the exhibition Construction of Infinity in a lesser-known, but extremely important position of his work – through drawings and monumental digital prints.
The exhibited works are based on geometric structures, rhythm, repetition and layering. Lhotský here examines the relationship between order and change, precision and intuition. The title of the exhibition refers to the principle on which the works are based: infinity is born from variations, modulations and the constant development of structures that go beyond the boundaries of the image itself. The compositions act as fragments of larger wholes without a clear beginning or end and draw the viewer into a space of changing perception. The functionalist emphasis on construction, rhythm and verticality finds a parallel in the author's paintings, whose spatial dynamics continue beyond the boundaries of the surface and resonate with the architectural environment. The construction of infinity thus represents Lhotský's work, in which the drawing becomes a space, the geometry a living organism and the image an open field of vision possibilities.

Dear Art Lovers,
We are pleased to invite you to the exhibition and opening reception of Zdeněk Lhotský: Construction of Infinity
which will take place on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Dům Radost, nám. Winstona Churchilla 1800/2, Prague 3 – Žižkov.
Zdeněk Lhotský (*1956) is one of the most prominent figures in contemporary Czech art and glassmaking. An internationally acclaimed artist, heir to the legacy of Stanislav Libenský, and a long-standing innovator in cast glass sculpture, Lhotský presents a lesser-known yet highly significant aspect of his artistic practice in the exhibition Construction of Infinity—through drawings and monumental digital prints.
The exhibited works are based on geometric structures, rhythm, repetition, and layering. Here, Lhotský explores the relationship between order and transformation, precision and intuition. The exhibition title refers to the principle underlying the works: infinity emerges through variation, modulation, and the continuous development of structures that extend beyond the boundaries of the image itself. The compositions appear as fragments of larger wholes without a clear beginning or end, drawing the viewer into a space of shifting perception.
The exhibition also enters into a dialogue with the architecture of Dům Radost. The functionalist emphasis on construction, rhythm, and verticality finds a parallel in the artist's images, whose spatial dynamics continue beyond the picture plane and resonate with the architectural environment. Construction of Infinity presents Lhotský's work as a space where drawing becomes architecture, geometry transforms into a living organism, and the image opens into an endless field of visual possibilities.
