The “VACUUM & AIR” project continues deal with profound philosophical themes: the fatal proximity of life and death, invisible borders and the pursuit of freedom. Katerina Nosik creates unique images and uses foil as a symbol of an elusive danger. This danger has penetrated so deeply into our everyday lives that we often forget that even small, seemingly harmless insects could be threatened. But freedom reminds us of the blue sky that we look at with a feeling of happiness through the glass panes of our windows - through the barriers that man has erected for his comfort.

As part of the vernissage, a performance will take place that represents a significant expansion and lively illustration of the topic "Vacuum & Air". This interactive experience allows visitors to experience the essence of the project more intensely, creating a living connection between art and its interpretation.

We invite you to discover a world in which nature and people interact with each other and create space for your own thoughts and feelings.

During the vernissage, the exhibition is accompanied by a performance with video accompaniment and an audio-plastic improvisation (viola and body sculpture). added.

Performers: Dasha Nosik and Katerina Nosik

The event will supported by the 8th district of Vienna (Josefstadt).

-LUFT-
The white area The canvas can mean something different to each viewer: it is undefined and possibly a symbol of the vacuum. But the small painted area is concrete, attracts the eye and demands attention. What you see on it doesn't matter - be it a summer night, a clear, cold winter day or a golden autumn. This representation is an opening to the outdoors. It gives hope, and hope means freedom. Maybe a ladybug, a green beetle, a dragonfly or a moth will fly into this space full of life and freedom.

-VACUUM-
If If a living being lies under a layer of polyethylene, the air is deprived of it. But the vacuum can keep it intact for a long time. The paradox is the connection between life and death. These harmless insects are trapped under the film - what will be their fate? But air enters the vacuum through a crack, and they have a chance to escape and survive. Although the symbol on the slide promises that it is "harmless" to the earth, we all know that the decomposition time can be much longer than nature intended - as well as the fact that no living thing can survive for long without air .
