The brilliant comedy The Merry Wives of Windsor by the great William Shakespeare proves that a story from the time of Queen Elizabeth could easily be an episode from the present - after all, we still have idlers, speculators, jealousies and philanderers.
Chairman Falstaff greedily decides to get the favor of two high-ranking ladies – Page and Ford. Mrs. Ford's husband is very jealous and solves the situation with his own methods. However, the clever ladies from Windsor prove to everyone that even a high-ranking person cannot afford anything and the truth will come out one day.
Everything that the viewer sees in the play can also happen in our country today. Without needlessly modernizing the story, some may recognize in Falstaff's actions the methods of contemporary politicians, others will find that even though times change, humanity remains essentially the same.
The unusual historicizing costumes have a timeless effect - they remind us of the period in which the play was written, but at the same time we observe clear contours of contemporary fashion on them, which refers to the topicality of the topic.
