About event
What does Christmas look like in Rio? That's a good question, anyway, why not enjoy the Brazilian bossa nova? :)
We cordially invite you to our concert in the cozy attic of the Central Slovak Education Center at Dolna 35, on Tuesday, December 17 at 7:00 p.m.!
BOSSA NOVA JOÃO GILBERTO QUINTET
The quintet devotes itself to an honest interpretation of the musical work of the genius João Gilberto - one of the founders of the Brazilian bossa nova genre. Who doesn't know one of the most played songs in the world, Girl from Ipanema? In our repertoire, we have honestly rehearsed the entire "first bossa nova album" Chega de saudade (1959), a selection from the legendary album Getz/Gilberto (1964), songs sung by Astrud Gilberto and other Gilberto favorites from the 70s and 80s. JH: "...because of João, I started trying to sing, learning Portuguese, I ended up first in Portugal and finally in Brazil. Let quiet and inconspicuous be no less than loud and conspicuous...
Juraj Havlík - guitar, vocals
Alexandra Volentieri - flute, vocals
Pavol Pondelík - tenor saxophone
Róbert Ragan - double bass
Martin Zajac - drums, percussion
