"U Nguyen" (duration of 30 min)
How to (not) embarrass on visiting a Vietnamese family? The Nguyen production presents an entertaining and at the same time an enlightening view of the life of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic. Two audience volunteers actively participate in the production, where the guides will introduce them to the world of traditional Vietnamese customs, family rituals and typical situations associated with visiting the Vietnam household. With ease and humor of the production, it reveals how cultural differences can lead to misunderstandings, but at the same time shows that mutual understanding and respect can overcome any obstacles. This interactive game serves as an entertaining and educational lessons of intercultural coexistence between Czechs and Vietnamese. The short production of Uncle Nguyen brings a funny yet fitting clash of two generations, two worlds and two different views of family, career and identity. Jack, a relaxed young man with Vietnamese roots, has to deal with an avalanche of loving criticism, cultural misunderstandings and unsolicited life advice from his uncle - a man who believes that the right life has a clear direction: doctor, economist or lawyer. In a half -hour dialogue full of humor and juicy messages, viewers will witness comical, as well as the moving convergence of two worlds that connect more than it seems.
