🎉 Vernissage: 23 January 2025 at 19:00
⏳ Exhibition open: 24-25 January, 12:00–20:00
📍 Gallery M6, Malířská 6, Prague 7
Everyone who has ever tried to devote himself to art knows how big a role luck plays in creative work. It's not enough to have a good idea or craftsmanship to make a piece "turn out well" - there are too many variables. Everything must fit together: the colors must blend into an unexpected but harmonious shade; the brush stroke must land exactly where it is supposed to; materials – canvas, pigments, base – must not fail during the process. This list could go on forever.
Moreover, the very perception of the work is affected by variable factors – from the socio-political context to the viewer's personal associations that suddenly emerge.
Almost every human activity involves a certain amount of chance, but in art chance becomes one of the key elements. Luck pervades the entire process - from the selection of materials to the composition to their perception and interpretation.
About the artist:
Viktar Makuryn (*1992) is a Belarusian painter and visual artist whose work focuses on spontaneity and the power of chance. In his work, he explores the interplay of systematic persistence and intuitive freedom, with his works often reflecting the subtle dynamic between chaos and control. Makuryn has established himself on the international scene in recent years and his works have been presented in galleries in Europe and beyond.

Anyone who has ever attempted to create art knows how pivotal luck can be in the creative process. To make a work "turn out well," a good idea or technical skill is not enough – there are simply too many variables. Everything must come together: colors must blend into an unexpected yet harmonious shade, brushstrokes must fall exactly where they're intended, and materials – canvas, pigments, and base – must cooperate throughout the process. This list could go on endlessly.
Moreover, the perception of a work is shaped by ever-changing factors – from socio-political contexts to the unpredictable personal associations that arise in the viewer's mind.
Almost every human endeavor involves some degree of chance, but in art, randomness becomes a central element. Luck permeates the entire process – from the selection of materials and composition to its perception and inclusion in the broader discourse.
