About event

Frédéric Chopin: Ballads No.1-4 (op.23,38,47,52)
Chopin composed his four ballads between 1835 and 1842 in Paris. Inspired by Polish literature and the romantic ballad tradition, they combine narrative freedom with deep expression. The works reflect Chopin's personal maturity and his break with classical forms - today they are among the highlights of romantic piano music.

Maurice Ravel: La valse
Ravel's famous orchestral work was originally commissioned for a ballet with the theme "Vienna and its Waltzes". Ravel expands the typical Vienna to include French impressionism. The piano version was created by Ravel himself in 1920.

George Gershwin: Rhapsody in Blue
A huge success for 100 years: the audience was thrilled at the premiere in 1924 and Gershwin's most famous work quickly became the standard in countless instrumentations. The definition of jazz meets classical music par excellence!
