About event
Violin & Piano - From playing to singing 🎻🎹
The first part of the concert is dedicated to the pure instrumental music of the Viennese classics - sonatas by Franz Schubert and Ludwig van Beethoven, in which violin and piano are in a lively dialogue: sometimes delicate and lyrical, sometimes virtuosic and passionate. Schubert's Impromptu forms a poetic miniature between the large forms. In the second part, the instrument becomes a voice: opera and song melodies are heard in virtuoso arrangements. Niccolò Paganini transforms Rossini's theme into sparkling variations, Sergej Rachmaninoff lets his songs blossom on the piano, and Franz Waxman's brilliant Carmen fantasy brings the evening to a passionate finale. An evening between form and expression, clarity and emotion, instrumental playing and singing voice.
