Vioolconcert van Brahms door meesterviolist Gordan Nikolić - Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam

Enjoy Gordan Nikolić in a double role. As a solo violinist in the violin concert of Brahms, a heavenly beautiful work that Nikolić knows like no other. And as a captain from the first lectern in Mozart's Jupitersymphony. A heavenly violin concert and a divine symphony, seasoned with a touch of Bartók.

Gordan Nikolić in spotlights
The Dutch Chamber Orchestra makes his leader and violinist Gordan Nikolić shine in the violin concert of Brahms, one of the most beautiful ever. Especially the slow part, which the composer with a sense of understatement had called a "peculiar adagio", has become immortal. Nikolić knows the work like no other. At the time he was a concertmaster at the London Symphony Orchestra, he gave that orchestra a memorable interpretation of.

from Brahms heavenly violin concert to Mozart's Divine Symphony
As the second work on the Symphony no. 41 by Mozart. He himself never heard this, but after his death it has become his most famous symphony. And rightly so because the sparkling music is like a house. Just listen to the final in which Mozart interweaves no fewer than five melodies for a beautiful unit. No wonder that the symphony afterwards was called the Greek supreme god Jupiter, a name that still bears the work with honor. Prior to these Divine sounds, the Aardens concert begins with the beautiful Romanian dances, for which Bartók was inspired by Romanian folk music.
