Philip Glass: Einstein on the Beach
Extraordinary concert of the 22nd Viva Musica festival!
Philip Glass's legendary "anti-opera" Einstein on the Beach will be performed in Bratislava in an exclusive Slovak premiere on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its creation. An iconic work of musical minimalism that fundamentally changed the way we think about opera and musical theatre, it premiered in 1976 in Avignon, directed by Robert Wilson and choreographed by Lucinda Childs and Andy de Groat, and was a huge success.
Viva Musica! the festival will present a concert version of the opera performed by two top Belgian ensembles Ictus and Collegium Vocale Gent under the leadership of conductor Tom De Cock.
The legendary American singer Suzanne Vega will play the role of narrator.
📍 May 28, 2026 | 19:00
📍 Stará tržnica, Bratislava
