About event

As part of a meeting with science called Vivat Scientia! Long live science! We continue on April 29, 2025 at 5 pm. Lecture Ing. Igor Lacík DrSc. from the Institute of Polymers of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava. Igor Lacík DrSc. from the Institute of Polymers of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava. It is addressed to the topic of cell encapsulation for the treatment of diabetes. The term encapsulation of insulin producing cells means wrapping them in a special packaging that is made of polymers. Dr. Lacík and his team cooperate on this topic with important domestic and world workplaces. Through his story, it tells why checking sugar levels transplanted islands is important for selected groups of diabetics, how it is possible to fool the immune system with polymers, what fundamental results it has achieved and where Slovakia and the world are located on this topic.

Looking forward to seeing you!
