About event
As part of a meeting with science called Vivat Scientia! Long live science! In the Town Hall/ City Museum Lučenec we continue on 27 May 2025 at 5 pm. lecture by the future chairman of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, nuclear physicist from the Physical Institute of SAS, v. in. i., Dr. Martin Venhart.
In this lecture we will learn what everything around us is stacked - water in rivers, smoke from burning, rust on old bike, tree leaves, bones in our body or metals in our mobile phone ... Every thing we see, perceive and hold in our hands, composed of chemical elements. But where did these elements take? Where do they come from? We will find out how the first simple elements originated at the moment of the birth of the universe, how others created stars in their hot cores, as some elements arise in interstellar dust and even directly here on earth, thanks to science and human resourcefulness. Despite the fact that the theme sounds at first sight as an environment of astrophysics or chemistry, these processes are based on nuclear physics.
Entry is free. Looking forward to seeing you!
