New series of meetings with science called Vivat Scientia! Long live science! will start on Tuesday 25 March 2025 at 5 pm. Lecture by Martin Hudcovský from the Institute of Economics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences on public finances.
Public finances, although they influence each of us, from the quality of health and education to the amount of taxes or pensions, often seem to be complicated and distant to everyday life.
Ing. Martin Hudcovsky, PhD. In the lecture, he explains what the state lives and what it is spending, which is the main sources of income that is the largest expenditure items, such as deficits, what is the difference between public debt and budgetary deficit are always bad, or can be useful where the state could save and where to look for new sources of income or to influence the state of the state. Facts, but also space for discussion. Together we will try to reveal where they are lost in the state budget and where you could look for billions ...
