About event
Christmas Pastorella in Radvani
Music has been an integral part of Christmas celebrations since time immemorial. Around the 17th century, a stream of artistic creation, known as pastoral, entered sacred music and merged with the liturgical music of the Christmas season. Pastoral motifs are characterized by the fact that they sound like rural motifs. We can hear various pastoral motifs in them, such as trumpeting, playing the whistle, and the like. Christmas pastorela was cultivated from the end of the 17th to the 19th century, and its historical tradition is primarily linked to Central European regions. Pastoral music from today's Slovakia, from the 18th and 19th centuries, will be presented by the early music ensemble Solamente Naturali. The Christmas Pastorella will be played for the sixth time in the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Radvani - on Hôrka. The performance will take place on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. The program will also include the consecration of young wine with a tasting at the end of the concert.
Entrance fee: 10 euro ducats
The rest was supported by the Art Support Fund from public sources.
