About event
We invite you to a discussion and presentation of Vladimír Barborík's book From Rozner to Medešim. Sketch of the prose decade on Monday 23.3. from 18:00 to Košice Artfor on Hlavná ul. 87
The evening is moderated by Ivana Komanická.
The book by a renowned Slovak literary scholar and critic is a set of interpretations of eight Slovak prose published in the past decade. Seven chapters - Dispute with History, Uncertain Self, Unobvious Landscape, Short Story, Identity, Family, Genus, Balance and Stranger represent the works of Ján Rozner, Ivana Dobraková, Richard Pupala, Vanda Rozenbergová, Veronika Šikulová, Pavel Vilikovský and Ivan Medeši. The interpretation is guided by the assumption that the time horizon of literature, ideas about the form of prose, relevant at the time of creation and publication of books are projected to a certain extent into the construction and reception of the works. The starting point is the hypothesis about the borderline nature of the decade, the assumption that in relation to the reflection of literary creation it is both short and long.
VLADIMÍR BARBORÍK is a literary scholar, historian and critic, he focuses on Slovak prose of the 20th and 21st centuries and on the literary life of the interwar and postwar period. He is the author of the books Pavel Hrúz (2000), Prozaik Gejza Vámoš (2006) and Hľadanie rastállača. Vincent Šikula's prose (2014). He writes reviews and is the editor of the online magazine Platform for Literature and Research, works at the Institute of Slovak Literature SAV v.v.i. in Bratislava.
The publication of the book by the Horská lucerna publishing house was supported by the Art Support Fund from public sources.
Entrance to the event is voluntary.
We look forward to seeing you in the bookstore📚
