The case of destroyed works of art in Bratislava during normalization
In the mid -1970s, a professional -political commission spoke during the review. housing estates and in public areas in Bratislava, in three simple words to "leave, move, remove". At the lecture we will clarify the processes, reasons, individual works and actors of this negative story of the history of Slovak fine art, which marked the fates of several artists and from history irreversibly erased a significant work of art. The massive image -abortion event during the Communist regime destroyed politically "inappropriate" art with the intention of cleaning the public space of Bratislava as an exemplary capital of socialist art and culture. At the initiative of the control authorities, they destroyed twenty -seven works, such as Rudolf Uhra, Jozef Jankovič, Štefan Belohradský, Pavel Tóth, Tibor Kavecký, Andrej Rudavský and Milan Laluha. art.
