Workshops and studios

Drop-in workshops: Four open creative studios in the exhibitions
In the accompanying studios to the current exhibitions in the Rieckhalle studio, visitors can get creative themselves in a variety of ways. (Meeting point: in the respective exhibition)

In the Historical Hall with the installation by Klára Hosnedlová, the “photo performance” creates a play with form, material and self-expression from upcycled textiles - cutting, gluing, stapling, staging and photographing.
At Toyin Ojih Odutola, drawing is the focus: on tinted paper, expressive colors and pencils are created Mini-portraits created.
Delcy Morelos, with her “earth tones”, encourages the use of natural pigments such as umber, sienna, cocoa or cinnamon on wooden postcards and the creation of fragrant small objects.
In the “Infinite Exhibition”, the “Liegeatelier” invites you to look at architecture and ceiling works from an unusual perspective and to record them in drawings.
Pop Up Atelier “Seasons Greetings” (Historical Hall)
You can create individual winter postcards at the interactive writing and drawing station in the museum’s Historical Hall. Each card becomes a small work of art that captures your thoughts and the atmosphere of the museum. Send them to friends, family, or leave them at the museum for others to respond to. This creates a creative dialogue between visitors. Come by, get creative and send a special message to the world!

“Your voice in the museum” (Forum Hamburger Bahnhof)
In the Forum Hamburger Bahnhof, interviews with visitors, artists and people who are connected to the museum are running on several monitors. Listen to what they say and then it's your turn! Speak into the camera and answer the same questions – completely spontaneously, completely in your own way. Your contribution can become part of the existing interviews - a growing collection of voices, thoughts and moments.

Screen printing station in the Rieckhalle studio
Winter clothes already stowed away - but the shirts and bags look boring? Then come by the open screen printing studio for the whole family! Bring your own clothing or bags and give them a new look with color, imagination and your own designs. Just come along, take part and print!

MuseumsSchattenTheater in the Rieckhalleatelier
Inspired by the exhibition by Petrit Halilaj, the participants immerse themselves in the fascinating world of shadow theater: Under the guidance of the puppet theater artist Georg Jenisch, they create their own shadow figures from simple materials and discover the art of their mobility. The creative use of different light sources creates lively, poetic images and small scenes between abstraction and narrative. A sensual and experimental offer that allows you to experience the exhibitions in an artistic way.

Ask me Family
You can ask the people with the “Ask me” sign in the exhibitions anything you’ve always wanted to know that isn’t mentioned in any other tour. Just talk to them - they will answer your questions and, if you wish, accompany you through the rooms. Whether children or adults: all questions are welcome!

Workshop “I only understand train stations” (National Gallery. A collection of the 21st century)
The workshop invites families and children to discover the free accompanying book “I only understand train stations” in a playful way. With pictures, stories and a lot of imagination, you go on a journey through the world of art and museums. Creative suggestions from the book are taken up and put into practice (meeting point: in the collection presentation “National Gallery. A Collection of the 21st Century”).

Bloomberg-App@kids
For everyone who likes to travel independently with their cell phone, Hamburger Bahnhof offers a digital children's tour on the Bloomberg Connects app. Exciting questions, audio contributions and creative tasks invite you to discover the museum on your own - it's best to start right at the entrance to the museum. An interactive experience for the whole family.

Volkswagen Group ART4ALL Family Lounge
There is something new to discover in the Volkswagen Group Art4All play area in the Historical Hall! The popular building blocks have been given exciting additions for the action days - developed by the Melon Seeds Collective, who have once again come up with something very special. Stay tuned and come by to try out the new game ideas!

The Volkswagen Group Art4All Children's Weekend at Hamburger Bahnhof is sponsored by the Volkswagen Group: partner of the Nationalgalerie.
