About event
A sounding social history in the mirror of songs from East and West.
An American presidential candidate contested his election campaign a few years ago with the slogan: "It's about the economy, idiot!" ("It's the economy, Stupid"). Art is about humans, especially in popular genres of music, in Schlager, Chanson, pop and rock music. To your feelings and memories that often combine with songs: on the journey on vacation, to the first love or separation, to the first intoxication, the last cigarette. With music, young people have rebelled against their parents and sometimes even emancipated themselves. Each generation has its own songs for this: "History of the hit is social history, even if many do not like it," as a clever man (the film critic and music biographer Wilfried Berghahn) once wrote. At least this applies to the time when computer programs have not yet been able to develop melodies and collaborate words into pleasing common texts. At that time, people wrote texts about things that moved them, other people have set them up, arranged, arranged and sang.
And if you listen to this supposedly meaningless hit texts, then you will discover in astonishingly many of these songs in East and West. But some things also stopped at the "iron curtain". On both sides.
Henry Nandzik and I sing based on a mixture of hits, pop and rock songs and chansons through the history of the two German states, and we sometimes tell chronologically, sometimes thematically: from the post-war years shaped in east and west, to the good 50s and rebellious 1960s to the fall of the wall. And that is very entertaining, funny and touching at the same time. An evening to listen to listening to a program about listening and singing along at the same time.
with hits and songs by Bärbel Wachholz, Evelyn Künneke, Bully Buhan, Trude Herr, Ruth Brandin, Helga Brauer, Vicky Leandros, Tanja Berg, Frank Schöbel, Gitte Haenning, Nina Hagen, Hoffmann and Hoffmann, all for others Accordion newly arranged by me.
