About event
Anyone who moves through Sonnenallee in Neukölln can understand the name “Arabian Street”. Much of the signage on shops and establishments is (only) Arabic, and the district is quickly associated with a hotspot or no-go area. How did this come about? And is that even true?
In addition, there is also gentrification and displacement here - and at the same time alternative, imaginative offers of self-help and neighborhood solidarity are emerging from churches, volunteers and associations as well as new showpieces of superlatives.
The tour begins at Hermannplatz under the Dancing Monument and ends at the former border crossing that divided the street for 27 years.
Meeting point: Sculpture “Dancing couple” on Herrmannplatz.
City guide: Cornelia Dette
As the number of participants is limited, we ask that you register.
Cost: 16 €
