Voskovec & Werich, Jaroslav Ježek and Jewish Songs

Dramaturgically unusual and listened captive program performed by the Choir of Bratislava, the Women's Corps Les Sirènes and the Children's Corps Under the leadership Primate's Palace in Bratislava.

The first part of the concert will be dominated by the work of Jewish authors and songs inspired by Jewish traditions. The Brundibár, which composed Hans Hans Beauty composed on the libretto of Adolf Hoffmeister for the Ministry of Education competition in 1938, will be performed by the Children's Corps. Rafael Schächter took the musical study first, but after his deportation to Terezín, Rudolf Freudenfeld (Franěk) took over the lead, and František Zelenka created the scene along with the scene. In the meantime, Hansa's beauty was transferred to Terezin in August 1942, where he became the head of the music section of the so -called. Freizeitgestaltung prison self-government and significantly participated in the cultural and musical program of the then ghetto. In July 1943 it was also followed by Rudolf Freudenfeld, along with many children who had previously performed in a Prague performance. He brought with him a piano lift of Brundibár and beauty, according to him, created a new "Terezine" version of the opera (the score of the original "Prague" version remained at the Ministry of Education and was again found in 1972). The work was re -studied under Freudenfeld's leadership and the Prime Minister was held on 23 September 1943 in Magdeburg Barracks accompanied by a ten -member orchestra. The performance was so successful that by September 1944 approximately 55 reprises were given. Record the snippet from the work was abused in a propaganda film for proof of the idyllic life of deported Jews. Unfortunately, the tragic fates of almost all performers shortly thereafter confirmed the opposite.
to the present viewers will transfer the lyrical cycle of five Hebrew love songs, which is mentioned by its author, American composer Eric Whitacre (1970), as follows: “In the spring of 1996 my great friend and excellent violinist Friedemnn Eichhorn me and my girlfriend Hilu Plitmann. Speyer in Germany. That year we all met as students at Juilliard School and became inseparable. Since we often acted as a wandering ‘musicians, he asked me to compose the cycle, the Trubadur‘ songs for the piano, the violin and the soprano. I asked Hilu, who was born and grew up in Jerusalem to write a few lines in her native language, and a few days later she gave me these beautiful and tender Hebrew poems. I set them out during our holiday in a small ski village in the Swiss Alps and for the first time we introduced them a week later in Speyer. ” The songs capture the individual moments of the composer's life with his wife now his wife Hilou, and later on the basis of orders he created other versions of this cycle, which will be presented at the concert in the form for a mixed choir accompanied by piano and violin. The program will be complemented by several musical temperament, abounding traditional Jewish songs such as Shalom Aleichem, whose origin dates back to the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries, or in the language of Yiddish singing love song Tumbalalaika and Ď. Andrea Bálešová and the violin Sandra Baggiolini will present as a co -acting church. Poetism, bringing satirical and critical views of period social conditions at home and in the world. After moving to an artistic discussion in 1927, the theater began to significantly form the legendary author's pair Jan Werich (1905 - 1980) and Jiří Voskovec (1905 - 1981). Soon they were supplemented by composer Jaroslav Ježek (1906 - 1942) and their performances were exceptional in the musical point of view. When warnings of the dangers of fascism gradually emerged in their work of the thirties of the 1930s began to emerge gradually resulting in open sharp criticism (performance Kat and Fool, 1934), the leadership of the artistic discussion on the basis of complaints from the German Embassy eventually the theater from the space. The name changed temporarily to a challenged theater and the original name began to be used only after returning to the artistic discussion in 1937. However, the anti -fascist focus of creation led not only to the ban on specific titles, but also to the official closure of the theater. For this reason, the enhanced Widdle -friendly Jewish origin has decided to emigrate to the US for emigration. Jaroslav Ježek died in the USA and Werich and Voskovci tried to restore the dead theater after the Second World War. However, the atmosphere of society did not want political satire, so the theater gradually disappeared completely. His legacy, however, persists to this day, also in conjunction with the attractive, jazz affected by the music of Jaroslav Ježek, which you will be able to enjoy by the mixed choir accompanied by the jazz trio of František Báleš.
