VOX LOW:
Let the pagans and other desecrators of tombs shudder : Vox Low emerges again like a messenger from the depths, ready to shake the foundations, and carrying on his shoulders the weight of ancient legends of dark mysteries. VRRRRRRR! In their highly anticipated second album, Keep On Falling, the Parisians dare to don the ultimate shroud of rock'n'roll mythology: Vince Taylor's black leather ski suit. Like Moses brandishing his arms, like the call of the fallen angels, they summon on this album the spirits of Jeffrey Lee Pierce of the Gun Club, the outlaw and feverish greasers of the fifties, as well as the heroes of the aciid rock. Wham! Bam! Thank You Ma'am!
The gang is made up of Jean-Christophe Couderc (machines + vocals), Benoît Raymond (bass), Mathieu Autin (drums) and a newcomer: Jérome Pichon (guitar) – which seems, strangely, to use a cutter blade instead of a pick. CLING! To these preachers of anarchy, we must add a certain Aurélien Bonneau, whose role as sound engineer – a true wizard – has become essential, to the point of being a full member of the group. What seems to bind these renegades together is the devout fanaticism toward Mark E. Smith and the passion for disorder. Vox Low is therefore releasing their highly anticipated second album on October 13, 2023, Keep On Falling, following an impeccable first record in 2018.
BRACCO:
Bracco, on stage , it's Loren, who is busy, drumsticks in hand, in front of an assortment of machines and synths. And it’s Baptiste, guitar around his neck, who sings with the rare conviction of those who put the microphone in their mouth so that the words come out better. Having blown my retina on the Cramps VHS must help. His garage background (Los VV’s) informs the harsh and precise guitar playing. Baptiste manages the verticality, Loren the space and the horizontals: it builds solid even if it's technical schlag, screwdrivers and pallet wood, we feel that they are aiming high.
SPILL GOLD: < br/>With a collection of old analog synths and percussion, the synth pop duo Spill Gold, aka Rosa Ronsdorf and Nina de Jong, creates a dark krautrock, mixing hypnotizing groove and electronic pulsations, somewhere between Can, Brian Eno or Laurie Anderson. Dancing, their universe revolves around a polyphonic explosion of rhythms, synthesizers, voices and bass lines. Between the stage and the dance floor, day and night, dream and sleep, trance and trip, Spill Gold is an experience on energy.
