Peace manifestation for: take action for peace in the world
On Sunday, September 21, 2025, it is the International Day of Peace. The theme of the UN is this year: Act Now for a Peaceful World. This includes the importance of understanding and non -violence. That is why we come together in silence at the Monument on Dam Square in Amsterdam from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. To commemorate the victims of the wars in Gaza, Ukraine and other wars worldwide, but also, and especially to call for peace.
We are sad because of the horrible and persistent violence in Gaza. The shocking images of children who are victims of the war in Gaza, social workers and journalists who have been murdered do not let us go. Like the fact that more than 66,700 people have already been killed in Gaza, a large part of which are women and children. The entire population in Gaza is being starved, hospitals are bombed and there is no clean water and food or humanitarian aid. People are driven to an ever -smaller piece of land with many, including the Peace SOS Gaza team. There is no safe zone in Gaza, a genocide takes place. The images of October 7 are also terrible. However, there were (mostly) Palestinian children and other people (mostly). See the UN reports Children in Armed Confict.
As Salama from Gaza wrote on 8 September:
"We hope that this year [the negotiations] will succeed, that the war stop, that the hostages will return, and that the suffering will end."
We are also worried about the many dead and refugees in the war with Ukraine. There are mainly plans to invest heavily in weapons, weapons and even more weapons. Where is the diplomacy? Where are the ideas about how we can achieve peace through peaceful means? It is already 89 seconds before the midnight on the Doomdaglok, where midnight symbolizes the end of life on earth as a result of human action. Closer to the mid-night than ever ...
Let's cherish life and take care of each other: a world in which all children can play.
We argue for:
- A worldwide permanent cease-fire, for peace negotiations
- Humanitarian aid for people in Nood
- nuclear weapons.
Also come to the Monument on Dam Square on Sunday 21 September from 2 pm to 3 pm to participate in our Stiltelkring. Take a peace sign with you. National flags can stay at home.
