About event
Miroslav Babinčák is a Slovak artist, painter and graphic designer from Michaloviec, where he also lives and creates. He is self-taught in the field of visual arts.
Babinčák has been involved in art since he was young, while his hobby became a profession. He runs his own studio, where he designs and implements various forms of visual art and advertising. His specialty is images combined with painting and screen printing. He is known primarily for his drawn and painted portraits of well-known personalities from the world of art, culture and politics. He often uses his own unique techniques, mixing elements of drawing, painting and graphics, which can be classified as mixed media or new media. These approaches aim to engage the viewer with a combination of technique, form and content.
Miroslav Babinčák comments on his work: "The cult of celebrity continues to be a ubiquitous force, amplified by the digital age and social media platforms. I bring a modern perspective on the complexities and contradictions inherent in celebrity culture. The works not only celebrate iconic figures, but also serve as poignant comments on society's obsession with fame. By observing images and stories of well-known personalities stimulate a deeper reflection on the values and desires that drive this phenomenon."
Vernissage on March 26, 2026 at 5:00 p.m., Exchange Wuppertálska
The exhibition will last until May 6, 2026, made available according to the program of the Exchange Wuppertálska.
