About event
The end of the month in Čitárn will bring a meeting with the writer, translator and publicist Michal Tall. During the evening, together with the publisher Slavo Sochor from Literárná bašta, he will present his book Everything is fine, everything is love. It is a collection of short stories about the inability to escape from places that we carry with us everywhere and won the Tatra Banka Foundation Award for art for a creator under 35 years of age.
Two very different women who met on the Internet go on a spa vacation together. A documentarian arrives in a disappearing settlement far from civilization. All over the city, mysterious buildings appear out of nowhere in the middle of the night. A couple takes care of a strange body in a small apartment. Men regularly cry in a candy shop in the suburbs. These are stories about tired people without names somewhere between reality and fever dreams - stories about the inability to escape from the places we carry with us everywhere.
Michal Tallo is a writer, translator and columnist. He published the poetry collections Antimita (2016, Drewo a srd), Δ (2018, Drewo a srd) and Kniha tmy (2022, Literárna bašta) and the prose book Everything is fine, there is love everywhere (2024, Literárna bašta). His work has been translated into many languages. He cooperates organizationally with several film and literary festivals, acts as the coordinator of the Básne SK/CZ competition, co-leads and edits the Lenticular poetry edition at the BRAK publishing house. His books have also been translated by Andrew McMillan and Seán Hewitt.
