About event
On October 8 at 19:00 in Berlin there will be a meeting with literary critic and publicist Alexander Arkhangelsky.
The theme of the evening is “Pushkin. The price of freedom." The conversation focuses on Pushkin as a cultural hero and his role in shaping ideas about freedom and power. Why is it so easy for autocracy to establish itself in Russian history, but so difficult for freedom to take root? What role did classical literature play in this? Is she to blame for the fact that for centuries she has been forming distorted images of the world, the state and the individual?
During the meeting, Alexander will present two of his new books, published by Vidim Books:
“Pushkin. A book about everything"
"Simply a classic! Anti-textbook on literature"
