About event

GODDESSES
a dance-musical production inspired by the phenomenon of goddesses

The show of the professional part of the group Goddesses is loosely inspired by the phenomenon of goddesses - women accompanying man through life filled with joy and love, but also sorrows and hardships. Against the backdrop of thirteen paintings, a world full of ancient rituals, ceremonies, customs and symbols opens up to the audience, in which man lived in common symbiosis with nature. A world that seems to be so far away through the gap of time, and at the same time so close in its message and the truth of the present. Jan Kysučan's original work is based on folk art, but at the same time he tries to cross the boundaries of styles by searching for new style-forming elements. This creates a unique connection between dance and the original music of author Pavel Koplík.

ONDRÁŠ Military Art Ensemble from Brno is a professional art ensemble established by the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic. It consists of an orchestra of folk instruments, a dance group and a girls' choir. Through music, singing and dancing, it presents the audience with the artistically stylized folklore of the home regions of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. Occasionally it also processes related regions of Central and Eastern Europe (e.g. Slovakia, Hungary, Ukraine or Romania). In addition to working with folk material, VUS Ondráš also deals with crossovers into other music and dance genres and creates original programs. This year the ensemble will celebrate its 70th anniversary.
