About event
Full-day kalimba production seminar in Prague. The result will be a tuned 11-tone pentatonic kalimba in the scale of G major in a padded case, which you can give to someone or keep for pleasure 😉 And also a lot of experiences and memories of a beautiful day and an inspiring process.
No need previous experience or special abilities. Under my guidance, you can make a full-fledged musical instrument in one day. In a small group of participants, I will keep an eye on each of you, so you don't have to worry about failure.
You will try the romantic journey of manual processing. You give the wood its final shape, drill holes, sand it, oil it, even work the hardware by hand and… make it sound! You will take home a tuned kalimba and a heart-warming experience.
The whole day we will explore the magic of woody plants, we will immerse ourselves in the absorbing creation of unusual things, we will share space in silence and in conversation, and in the evening we might manage to make a kalimba" orchestra".
