Event by: Bubahof-Olga
Location: Bubahof, Nad Primaskou 821/1, Praha 10
About event
This year, for the eighth time, in the park at Prostor Olga, we will commemorate the birth of František Suchý the elder – landscape architect and director of the horrific crematorium, who during the Nazi occupation, together with his son František Suchý the younger and his wife Olga, preserved the ashes of more than 2,200 executed people.
This year's program connects memory, civic voice, body, land, young music scene and contemporary art. It is also based on the exhibition series TESTING THE SYSTEM, which in Prostor Olga presents the co-authored work of the youngest generation as a critical probe into social structures, the limits of which are shown again and again in times of crisis.
Peter Kolárčik is behind the dramaturgy of the musical part of the mini-festival.
Programme:
17:00: Creative workshop for making chariots and demonstrator scarecrows / Alex Sihelsk* + ping pong and other games in the park - if you have accumulated metal/tin waste (cans, etc.) or a good/favorite stick, don't hesitate to bring it with you
18:00 reading from the novel And the Fields Left Without Flowers / Unai Eguia Bizkarralegorry, which tells the story of Spanish deportees to a Nazi concentration camp in the Czech village of Hradištko; one of the book's characters is František Suchý. emo)
In Prostor Olga you will also be able to listen to an audio recording of an interview with František Suchý the younger from 2014, the author of which is Vlastimil Venclík.
Come and spend an early summer evening in the park with us. Remembering the story of the Suchy family, being together and thinking about how memory can become a living part of the present.
