About event
We invite you to the exhibition of Slovak jewelery maker and designer Petra Tóth under the name Dealed Road Slovakia. €
Petra Toth - Slovak jewelery maker from Bratislava, who decided around 2007 to work inspired by folk motifs and symbols. Since then he has been traveling in Slovakia and collects themes from folk costumes, folk furniture, home textiles, wall paintings or ceramics, which it transforms into modern but timeless jewelry. Peter approaches art differently than other artists. One of its first media -known debuts was the crowns for the Miss Universe competition, which carried folk themes. It was these projects that opened the door to a wider audience and helped popularize Slovak folk art through jewelry. Over time, Peter added a new dimension to her work - the desire to return something to our ancestors. It regularly starts various projects and support events that aim to help where it is needed. It uses its influence and, through his work, draws attention to the important topics that need a change. It also helped restore the lost costume from Miková, native village of Andy Warhol's parents, and created a collection to open a memorial room dedicated to Warhol's parents. Its jewelry thus gained an enlightenment dimension that goes beyond the purely aesthetic level and reflects her sincere desire to protect the cultural heritage. Thanks to this crown, the whole world learned about three small Liptov villages and their costumes. Peter considers this opportunity to be one of the highlights of her career because she enabled the Slovak cultural heritage to shine on the world scene. This project combines beauty with history and encourages people to get to know their roots and heritage more.
