About event
Memories of the times when the plastic bag meant prestige. Go back to the past at the exhibition of the collection of plastic bags of artist Michal Moravčík.
Exposition plastic bag presents a personal collection of plastic bags of artist Michal Moravčík (1974 - 2016), which has long been fascinated by the self -help DIY culture and home creativity ever. In it he sought traces of value changes in the post -socialist era of transition from collectivist state socialism to individualism to global capitalism, from the era of post -war modernist social consensus into the time of the disintegration of the public sphere in the 1990s. Jozef Jankovič. Later, he moved from the figurative starting points to discourse and from a classic statue to spatial and interactive installations in which he still took into account the scale of the figure, just replacing it to the audience. He often worked with the material found and its context. In particular,
He was interested in the so -called Readymade and retroestetics from the time of state socialism, as well as the everyday used housing space and the personally experienced environment of a prefab apartment or housing estate. He worked as an editor of the magazine Volga and a long -time teacher at the PDF here in Trnava, as well as the FAVU Vut in Brno and VŠVU in Bratislava. He initiated several influential civil and artistic initiatives, o.i. What statue to the city? (2006); Twenty years from the gentle did not take place (2010); Public pedestal (from 2010). He was holding the Oscar Čepan Award from 2004. 8. Bratislava.
