Powerful stories of forty young people who did not have time to receive their diplomas. The traveling exhibition Unissued Diplomas reminds us that behind the numbers of war statistics there are concrete destinies, dreams and hopes - interrupted by the war conflict in Ukraine. to the war before they could finish their studies and receive their diploma. Each of the displayed diplomas carries a specific story of a young person - his dreams, achievements, interests and tragic end.
The project was created with the aim of reminding the world that the war in Ukraine is still ongoing - and that every day brings new losses, destroyed dreams and interrupted life paths. they pay in the fight for freedom," the authors of the project state on the official website unissueddiplomas.org.
Since its launch in February 2023, the exhibition has traveled to more than 30 countries around the world, visited over 250 institutions and universities, and received broad support from the academic and public community.
In Slovakia, this exceptional project is realized thanks to cooperation with The Ukrainian Sunday school in Bratislava, which in 2024 prepared 15 exhibitions all over the country. As stated by co-organizer Dr. Elena Lykhota: "Every day the lives of innocent people are destroyed and the destinies of innocent people are destroyed. We want to show the world that war is a great misfortune and that human life must remain the most valuable value." they arrived.
