About event
It's a party! Amsterdam is celebrating its 750th anniversary and Podium Mosaic has been around for 20 years. Reason enough for a grand jubilee concert in the heart of Amsterdam-West. Together with our house companies Dutch blowers Ensemble (NBE) and Theater Rast, we present amazing West: a theatrical ode to the people, stories and voices of this special district.
We have already organized various hiking concerts in recent years, and now we have unpacked with a festive edition in the open air - by the muzzle - one muzzle Neighborhood.
6:00 pm: stories from West
Theater maker Ayşegül Karaca and spoken Word artist Luan Buleshkaj entered into conversation with local residents, entrepreneurs and artists. They gathered stories that make the DNA of West visible - powerful, diverse and sometimes vulnerable. In the supporting program, these stories are shared in Spoken Word and music, along with, among other things:
19:00: a musical ode to west
The Dutch blowers ensemble, Ayşegül Karaca, Naz, Hessel de Mark, Bahghi and Luan Buleshkaj bring a festive and Poëzzie. An ode to a neighborhood in movement - from past to the future.
Take a picnic dress or chair and come and toast and meet. Together we celebrate the stories of our bustling Amsterdam-West
More about amazing West
Insane West is a series of concerts, stories, images, podcasts, theatrical city conversations and educational projects around 750 years of Amsterdam. The series highlights the soul of Amsterdam-West and its residents-young and old, newcomers and established-with attention to their stories, perspectives and future. The anniversary concert in the Erasmus Park is the grand finale of our celebration. In a place where everyone is welcome, together with local artists and storytellers, we bring a performance that connects, surprises and stays. The stories give a picture of how residents experience their neighborhood - with themes such as home, change, diversity, gentrification and solidarity. How do we live together in these new "Roaring Twenties"? Insanious West invites me to meet, wonder and connection.
