About event

We provide insights into the work as a software developer*.

In the workshop “What does a software developer* actually do?” We will cover the following topics and questions:

What is software and what examples are there?
What are the tasks and areas of work of a software developer*?
Software development: a profession with social responsibility!
Introduction to the basic building blocks of software development: idea - design - development - test
Introduction to Python

How can software development positively change society?

In the first part of our In workshops we deal with topics that are close to our hearts, for example climate protection or equality, and think together about how software influences society.

Introduction to Python: Getting to know the basics

In the second part we look at the Python programming language. Python is extremely versatile in software development because it provides an easy-to-understand syntax, a large selection of libraries and predefined functions.
The workshop takes place in person at the BERIT consulting center.
Lecturers*:

Linda Fernsel studied media informatics and works as a software engineer in a start-up.
Lisa Bacherle is currently writing her master's degree in aerospace informatics. Both are active as mentors in the CoderDojo Schöneweide association.
