About event
The development of the scene after 1990
bands such as the Puhdys, Karat and Silly were stars in the GDR and also toured internationally. After the turn, however, the scene faced the end. Many bands initially dissolved, the audience went to the West bands-and surprisingly returned a little later. What became of the GDR rock after 1990? The historian Tom Koltermann pursues this question in his book "Rock im East". It illuminates the upheaval time based on numerous sources and interviews. Tina Powileit, who tells of the past and presence of the Ostrock, is a guest of the book premiere: The drummer of the GDR rock band Mona Lise still plays with the rope team. From 1992 to 1998 the band accompanied the East German songwriter Gerhard Gundermann.
Lecture and conversation: Dr. Tom Koltermann, historian, Potsdam and Tina Powileit, musician, Berlin
Moderation: Dr. Liza Soutschek, research assistant DDR Museum
Cooperation with the Leibniz Center for Contemporary History Research Potsdam e.V. (ZZF)
Admission is free of charge.
