Dying and death are sensitive topics that are often taboo in society, but since teachers are in intensive contact with children, they need to know how to talk to them about these topics. 🕯
We invite you to a webinar where we will focus on how to sensitively discuss the topic of death with children and adults. Our guests, Jaroslava Kosecová and Andrea Uherková, will give you advice on the following topics:
👉 when and how to talk to children about death,
👉 what are the appropriate words and approaches for different age groups,< br/>👉 what is the role of teachers within the school education program,
👉 how to prepare children for funerals, and how to involve them in the process,
👉 what is the ecological impact of cemeteries, and how to involve pupils in environmental practices ,
👉 tips on support resources for teachers when working with grief in the classroom and much more.
The guests of the webinar are:
🍂 Jaroslava Kosecová, who studied psychology at the University of Trnava in Trnava . She is a graduate of the Plamienok n.o. educational course. "How to communicate with children and adults in difficult times". For the sixth year, she has been working as a psychologist at the Center for Grief Therapy, where she meets with children, teenagers and adults after the loss of a loved one.
🍂 Andrea Uherková, graduate of the Faculty of Ecology and Environmental Studies in Zvolen and current eco-funeralist. She graduated from the Socrates Institute, where she brought the topic of natural burial, in which she sees meaning, and since then she has been helping to develop it in Slovakia within the framework of ŽIVICE. He is dedicated to the Funebra project and especially to the Garden of Memories in Zvolen. At this natural cemetery, she works as an administrator and celebrant. He feels most alive in nature and with friends, yoga, a good book or food. For her, death is a guide in life.
The program manager of the Green School, Zuzana Gallayová, will talk to the guests. The webinar is prepared by the Comenius Institute in cooperation with the Green School program, Funebra and N.O. Flamingo.
