Officially, 10% of the population in the Czech Republic suffers from diabetes. These are the ones who know their diagnosis. The vast majority of them have type 2 diabetes. It is estimated that another 2% are not yet aware of their diagnosis and 5% are in the prediabetes stage. Because diabetes in the early stages is often not accompanied by any other symptoms, people often live for a long time in the belief that they do not have diabetes, and the catch occurs at high values. The first step in both prevention and treatment is a significant change in diet and lifestyle, with treatment under the supervision of a doctor supplemented, if necessary, with medication. In practice, we often come across low awareness of patients on how to manage the disease. That is why the course was created, which, in addition to basic information, is intended to provide practical advice and tips for managing life with prediabetes and type 2 diabetes.
The course is intended for the general public - people with prediabetes and diabetes 2nd type and their surroundings. The information provided in the course is based on official recommendations of professional societies, professional literature, verified scientific sources and hundreds of real case studies from practice. The course does not replace medical care. Always consult your doctor for specific changes in the regimen, who knows your individual health best. qualifications of a nutritional therapist with appropriate education according to Act no. 96/2004. The lecturer is a nutritional therapist.
