About event
One of the most beautiful love stories in world literature.
A lonely fantasist and a sad, desperate woman meet by chance in the white nights of Saint Petersburg: "It was a wonderful night - which can only exist when we are still young..."
The apparent randomness of their encounter allows their longings and wishes to become an existence between appearance and reality - and caught in the randomness of their encounter, their dreams take shape and become reality probing questions about the truth in the lie and the lie in the truth.
Kathleen Morgeneyer and Bernd Stempel worked together for many years at the Deutsches Theater Berlin. This enabled the project to bring “White Nights”, Dostoyevsky's novella, to the stage.
