Wenner Regales: Keep It Real

Wenner Regales, born in Curaçao, came to the Netherlands at the age of twelve. A few years later his mother sent him back to Curaçao because he threatened to derail. He turned out to be a successful rapper, returned to the Netherlands, to Amsterdam-Zuidoost, and also started producing music.

Because Wenner has worked intensively with young people for years, he has a huge network of now adult music and other professionals, who can contribute to the positive development of our youth from their own experience. It started as a one -day program on the Maarten van Rossem (VMBO) and Leerpark Presikhaaf (VMBO and Practical Education) in Arnhem and the Orion College Zuidoost, De Dreef and OSB Amsterdam Practical College. At Keep It Real, music producers work together with youth workers, teachers and people who used to be active in the underworld.

Keep it Real appears to be a great success. For example, Wenner knows how to ensure that many young people are more resilient against criminal exploitation. Wenner: 'Young people who lagged 10-0 are now 10-0 ahead. "

He has been nominated for his work as Amsterdam of the year 2023:
