About event
Join us for a poetry walk through wor(l)ds of change, nature, and city(scapes), organized as a part of the FLYLEAF Book & Zine Festival in late September, and very much a trial run for future walks like this back in the northern neighborhoods of Berlin...
...For the first event of its kind by the re(a)d wedding kollektiv, we invite you on a gentle journey through Berlin’s urban wilderness—where the lines between poetry, presence, and place begin to blur. This guided walk in the heart of Neukölln is an invitation to tune into your senses, wander with intention, and explore how movement through the city might spark new ways of seeing, writing, and connecting. Along the way, we’ll pause to reflect, write, and wonder—sometimes in introspection, sometimes in conversation.
Together, we’ll ask:
What does it mean to create in a shifting world? How does our environment shape our stories? And what kind of community do we crave to keep creating?
This is an experiment in noticing. In walking with curiosity. In letting the city write through us. Bring your words into the wild—and see what finds you.

The hosts:
Johanna Dörrie - is a berlin-based writer and poet and co-organizer of Re(a)d Wedding. Having found her passion for words several years ago, she now continues to create in community and experiment with crafts and material of all kinds along the way. In this workshop she will share her excitement for noticing details and letting the city's collective experiences write through you.
Brooks - is an event producer, musician and poet grown in Chicago. A fellow organizer of the Kollektiv behind this event, they specialize in abstract works with which you are tasked with picking apart through your own unique lens. This takes the form of often-strange layouting choices and the ocassional contrapuntal. Only having shared this work publicly once arriving to Berlin in 2021, Brooks emphasizes to the readers of his various publications that anyone can start writing, no matter what ‘’rules’’ may be broken or completely unknown.
