Will Varley | Berlin

This year the British songwriter Will Varley will publish his new album "Machines Will Never Learn to Make Mistakes Like Me" and present it live in Germany in October. Three songs on this have already been published as a single, most recently the wonderful "Never Get Tied of You" came in January - a declaration of love to his daughters, which is very close to a van Morrison. "Whatever’s Left", in turn, reminds of Varley's best known song "Seize the Night" with its folky Vibe and the melancholy that seems at night. "Everything Has a Heartbeat" is a little more lavish and has a subtle country twang that is very good for its sound. Will Varley says about the album: "I wrote these songs in empty spums and waiting rooms from hospitals. I wrote them while I was sitting in the middle of the night in childbirth stations, hotelobbies, highway racers and broken tour buses." The album acts from the "Try to be a hundred different people at the same time. It is an album about hope, despair and survival. Love and dependency. The things we do not know, the life we do not live."

Will Varley is happy to go on a tour of Germany after the first intimate club shows in autumn. Varley says: "The audience that we had in the past few months has absolutely blew up, and as soon as we were ready in Berlin, I wanted to do everything again. I have been working in the studio for almost a year now, but there is nothing better than playing live. It has been a while ago that I have done a real tour like this. I will hardly be able to play in some of the best independent venues in the world." It should be similar to its numerous fans.
